Rocky Mountain Juniper often has a broad pyramidal shape, a characteristic reddish-brown bark that sheds, and deep green needles on slender, sinewy branches. The tree can reach heights of 50 feet and a width of 20 feet in the wild. A kind of juniper hedge called Wichita Blue Juniper Hedge has slower growth and vivid blue foliage. Without trimming, a mature size would be 10' tall by 6' broad. With Juniper Wichita Blue trimming, you might eventually maintain a hedge that is somewhere between 6 and 12 feet tall.
