The Place Beyond The Pines is a drama directed by Derek Cianfrance (Blue Valentine) about a motorcycle riding stuntman Luke (Ryan Gosling) who makes a decision to commit a crime to support his family. Policeman, Avery (Bradley Cooper) comes into contact with Luke, and this has an overwhelming effect on both of their families in the future.
The relationship between father and son is a very important part of this film. Luke and Avery both have sons of the same age who quickly find out the unfortunate bonds they share. The Place Beyond The Pines consists of three stories in one, explaining the hardships of family, consequenses, and acceptance. In this redesign I chose to metaphorically represent the characters through the various bike parts, and circles (for lesser characters). A gritty texture was used to represent the pain and hardship exhibited throughout the film. Lukes sunglasses are the focal point of the poster because they show the strong relationship between father (Luke) and son.
The motion title redesign incorporates connected elements from the poster.
