SAVE THE WILD TIGERS
Individual student work fall 2013

Brief:
Wild tiger numbers are at an all-time low. We have lost 97% of wild tigers in just over a century.
Tigers may be one of the most revered animals, but they are also vulnerable to extinction.
As few as 3,200 exist in the wild today. If the wild tiger population continues to decline at the current rate, recovery may not be possible.

Any media of choice. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a big integrated campaign or a small simple execution.
Most importantly, it MUST work or show potential of solving this problem.

Come up with an idea that will stop the killing. Even saving 1 tiger is significant.

Target market:
Our target audience are people who are passionate about animal wellfare and the enviroment. Our audience is defined by interests and therefor has no spesific age group. To reach out to this audience we need to keep it simple and make it understandable for everyone. Our secondairy target audience are pet owners and people who like animals.

Goal:
With this campaign, I aim to raise awareness around the preservation of the wild tigers. I hope that this campaign will stop people from buying products that are made from tiger parts, as well as decrease the request for tiger products.

When this campaign is finished I hope to have raised the awareness concerning the preservation of the wild tigers.I also hope to have made people aware of what kind of products they are buying, and what kind of business they are supporting by buying these products.

Visual solutions:

Print ad:
My ad is basically a picture of a rainforrest, with some blood on the ground where the tiger was. The board has a white bold text that says “There was supposed to be a wild tiger in this ad…” and a smaller text that says ”But the poachers got to it before we did”. At the bottom of the board there are some text lines that describe how you can help save the wild tigers. And to make sure that the audience understands who the sender is, I have placed WWF’s logo in the right hand corner.

Web ad:
The web ad is a lot like the board, with a few alterations. The format is changed to a more web friendly format. The text in the ad is encurraging the reader to click. We have also
eliminated the web address, since the ad will be clickable.

TV commercial:
The TV commercial is based on the same idea as the boards and web ad. The commercial is 15 seconds long and will be a white bold text on a moving picture of a rainforrest with background music. In the first frame the text says “There was supposed to be a wild tiger in this commercial”. In the second frame the text says “But the poachers got to it before we did”. In the third frame the text says "Donate to save the wild tigers.”. And in the last frame the WWF logo appears along with WWF’s web address.
