THE DESERT TREK, TREK MAN

This year celebrates the 50th milestone of the iconic Clarks shoe brand 'Desert Trek'. To honour this historic landmark, Clarks Global Brand and Art Direction Lead, Lewis Clarke, engaged me to re-imagine the iconic Trek Man, which appears on the heel and hang tag on all Trek products. The brief allowed creative freedom to transform him into a woman, a robot or even a werewolf with consideration for the environment he is living within. The re-imagine design should also maintain the integrity of his iconic pose, backpack and walking stick. Of the multiple submission the brief offered, the inspiration for this concept underscores my love for science fiction. The chosen selection of my re-imagined Trek Man takes the form of a robot living in the outer world that highlights the versatility of the Desert Trek footwear worn in different environments. The exhibition is available for public viewing on the Clarks Originals socials for persons to share and save.
