Women of Valor Luncheon Makes Impact

Martin Nussbaum of New York City has worked in real estate for 20 years. His current position is owner and principal of Slate Property Group. Outside of his role at Slate Property Group, Martin Nussbaum is involved in community-based organizations, including Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF).

In March 2022, the FIDF Michigan Chapter hosted a “Women of Valor” luncheon to raise funds for the organization. The group held the outdoor event at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield and raised $250,000 for the IMPACT! Scholarship, which gives wounded IDF soldiers $16,000 toward a four-year degree.

With the money raised, 15 IDF soldiers can attend university. Three hundred supporters turned out for the event, with one IDF scholarship recipient attending - Sgt. Yuval Nifousy, a psychology major at the Academic College of Tel Aviv.

The luncheon is an example of the events that FIDF routinely organizes. A nonpolitical, nonmilitary organization, FIDF helps Israeli soldiers, veterans, and their families.
