Meet Me Near the Water
White beaches ripe as a rouge-bruised peach
Fading to lavender light and sun-filled sighs
Bleached-out chalky charred driftwood
Rubbed down by the wakeful wandering waves
Babes in seaside seasons
Dark evenings lit by the moon and bonfire fairies
Siren shores of seamen’s swinging lanterns
Lighthouses baptized in barber pole stripes
Like giant peppermint towers
Standing at the ready in sandy gardens
Overgrown with starfish flowers
