Attraction attractions clock farytale rollercoaster Theme Park

The assignment: Create an attraction for the theme park the Efteling, every attraction in the theme park has a different story which mainly are fairy tales.

First I went and did some research on the story for the project, there wasn't much to find other than the story itself which isn't that long so I quickly started working on some ideas.

Because the little goats needed to hide from the wolf in the story I would make the project horror themed.

Concept 1: Just a simple roller coaster in theme of the story.

Concept 2: Some sort of dark ride also in theme of the story.

Concept 3: An escape room once again in theme of the story.

Mood and style boards

I wasn't really happy with these mood boards, it was a bit difficult for me to move forward with this as inspiration so i started over with pinterest.

I went for a mansion like design for the house with some different clocks because its an important piece of the story, further I added some inspiration for the wolf.

Style board

Here I chose for a simple modeling style but added some more realistic reference later on.

Some sketches

I also wasn't happy with some of the sketches, mostly because i din't have a good mood board and secondly because each concept wasn't really strong on its own.

So I chose a combination of concept 1 and 3 in the from of a big standing clock where you go inside and get introduced in the story. Then you go to the next floor where the escaperoom is located, then if you finish it in time you can escape from the top of the clock in a roller coaster.

Later in the project I chose to not design the escape room inside the 3d model and focus on the outside and the coaster because I didn't have much time left.

But lets say your worst nightmares are inside.
