Bashinform.
Information agency

The Bashinform Information Agency is the largest state news agency of the Republic of Bashkortostan, founded in 1991 by the Government of the Republic. Today "Bashinform" is the most quoted and visited news portal of Bashkiria. The materials are published in Russian, English and Bashkir.

An asterisk is a typographic sign in the form of a small, usually five or six-pointed "star" located in a line or raised above a line. It was introduced in the II century BC in the texts of the Library of Alexandria by the ancient philologist Aristophanes of Byzantium to indicate ambiguities.

The superscript asterisk is a classic footnote or note sign. In the old days it was sometimes even referred to punctuation marks and called a "remarkable sign".

The idea of the new Bashinform logo is based on the blooming flower of the kurai, the symbol of Bashkiria. We offer to look at the classic image of this flower from an unusual angle — from above, so here is a seven-pointed "asterisk" resembling the typographic sign. It’s a symbol of complete clarity, where you see it — everything is explained and clarified. The agency considers it its task to provide the most complete, understandable, clear information about all the things taking place in Bashkortostan.
