The aim of the research was to create a new material in order to recover the used garnet sand from sandblasting
and water jet cutting processes.
 
The recovering costs of this material is higher than the price for the same one raw.
For this reason in the studio I tried to create a new material using the sand as base and mixing it with different resins, painting and adhesives for industrial coatings, already used in the factory producing these scraps.
 
 
 
 
 
After physical and mechanical tests of resistance and conduction, ReProNet was the most successful sample demonstrating an optimal weather and wear resistance, high malleability and insulation from water and temperature.
Furthermore this is a sustainable material because born from trash, durable and recyclable.
