VŠECHOVICE Open Air Festival

VŠECHOVICE Open Air Festival is a small-scale music fest, which takes place in a picturesque village Všechovice in Olomouc region.

We have been asked to make a brand for the festival and no other instructions have been given - the designer (me) had full freedom in drawing it. 

The main target group are families with kids who will come to have a splendid daytime. Therefore, I have opted for welcoming round objects that I liked to call orbs.


RESEARCH
As usually, a part of the process was a thorough research as well.

I have mapped several Czech music festivals - including Beats For Love, Rock For People and Metronome festival and I have been looking for an inspiration in their brands. Apart from these big festivals for thousands, I have also checked small ones like KromFest which takes place in the city of Kroměříž - my home town.
DRAFTS
Before a final visuality have been found satisfactory from my side, several drafts have been made in the process. None of them were pleasing and quite unique - but that is a thing every designer knows - it is inevitable part of the way.

In this draft, the main idea was to create a logo, that would be easily reproducable with human hands and therefore, people would be able to take photos with the hand-logo from any festival area. Furthermore, a type of "Take a creative photo with our hand-logo and the winner will get one family ticket for free" event.

However, this didn't work in my head and therefore I kept sketching.
FINAL DESIGN
The final design resulted in 90s styled logo with pink-purple colour combination and orbs.

The main aim was to give the logo a welcoming accent with round corners accompanied with light-pink circle and gradient orbs. The typography of the logo has been achieved by modification of the typeface Raleway, Bold style.
MERCHANDISE
Part of the design process was also creating patterns for T-shirts, hoodies, entry wristbands and posters for advert boards.
WEB DESIGN
The final part of this project was to create website design, that will work as a presentation of the festival itself, showcase of performing artists and also a platform to buy tickets.

The whole website consisted of one micropage with all the information provided for visitors to get all the requisities.

Designed sections were hero with claim, line-up, tickets, locality, merch and gallery of previous years.
SUMMARY
This project had been really enjoyable for me and I have managed to create a visually pleasing brand that will serve its purpose - to bring families to have fun at the VŠECHOVICE Open Air Festival.

Unfortunately, despite the client's enthusiasm after the first presentation, the project had undergone some changes and in the end, the client opted to have the brand done elsewhere.
