GASTRO MAGAZINE REDESIGN

As a one week assignment in school, we had to redesign a Magazine and present it for the former Art Director of Gastro and Euroman, Kenneth Schultz. We could choose to keep the consisting identity and target group, or completely change it. I wanted to redesign the food magazine Gastro, and try to make the magazine a bit more exclusive, 'cause to me it seems like they really want to be a high-end magazine about gourmet end new nordic shit - but the appearance is no where near it. A lot of the presentation was about the grid and the ideas, so it's hard to show, but here's for trying
I made two suggestions for the front page. One that was in the same old spirit as "Gastro", with a barley photo.
And the one I ended up with, that had a whole new take on the Magazine with the old school illustrations.
Here's a selection of some of the pages - including a table of contents, a calendar and some recipes. The magazine should be printed on normal glossy magazine paper, while the recipes on a more off-white/news-paper like paper (like the old recipe books).
