ABSTRACT
Through extensive research and consultations I came to learn that the different cultures in Uganda have a lot
in common, which meant there was a lot to choose from.
The similarities range from musical instruments like drums to traditional attire to mention but a few. Through
this vigorous process I finally identified the ultimate unifying factor which is music.
Music as they say is truly the window to the soul; the way it unites the different races, tribes and clans is really
amazing. Music traditionally is played through drums. For the case of Uganda these are everywhere; from
the northern region to the south, east and west. I represented this unifying factor (MUSIC AND DANCE) with
hands playing a drum. Black represents the traditional African man and yellow represents universality and
cultural diversity, after all we are all human and we are all Ugandans.
