The brief required us to utilize the principles of Notan to reimagine a South African brand. The brand i have chosen is Mofaya Energy Drink. Mofaya is a local black owned beverage company and it was established in 2015 by Sbusiso Leope (Dj Sbu) and two business partners , with the aim to create a "strong, authentically African-inspired non-alcoholic beverage
Notan
Notan is a Japanese term  which literally means "light dark harmony." A notan uses an extremely limited range of values, in its  most strict from  just black and white, and in it's liberal form black, white and a midtone. Notan is uniquely suited for expressing a composition in irreducible shape forms.
Elements
My Redesign is comprised of an abstract fire logo, typography and use of white space. The typeface I've utilised is Roboto, and I have chosen this font as it is legible, stylish and smart while simultaneously professional and friendly.
