Outbid was a multi-platform live auction system that allowed users to play both bidder and auctioneer, in both forward and reverse auction scenarios, as well as within B2B and B2C contexts.

The co-founders of the company, sharing an extensive background as live auction participants, wanted to restore the "live" in a digital world where silent auction models such as eBay and Amazon Marketplace dominated, effectively removing some of the most vital components that made live auctions poetic and human— the auctioneer, (body) language, and theater.
