How to inhabit a perfect square of 9x9m? The formal question was soon filled with a reinterpretation of this traditional galician house in the astonishing enclave of Fisterra (Spain).

The space of the existent house was still highly divided due to the requirements of a family in the mid-twentieth century society. The renovation deals with the amplitude of space required nowadays, and thus with the unification and new mixture of uses in the domestic space. These changes do not affect the main parameters of the traditional construction, i.e. the remarkable symmetry of the main facade and the original openings on each stone wall. Hence the extraordinarily well-finished ashlar masonry is preserved and enhanced in the new design.
