About VGIK Festival
VGIK International Student Festival is one of the oldest student film showcases.
The first Festival was held in 1961. In 1970 the Festival became international.
It’s hard to find any famous person in Russian film industry, who hasn’t sat on the Jury of the Festival.
The main idea of the Festival is that VGIK is a big family and hardly any person whose life is connected with VGIK, can but accept the invitation to judge the younger generations.
Visual concept
Connection of generations, classic cinematography and new technologies became the main line of the concept for visual identity of the 33th Annual Festival. We decided to use retro characters and futuristic style to reflect the aesthetics of the beginning of the 20th centuty when 3D movies were born. It was the time when past meets future...
