“Cantu e cuntu” is a song by the Sicilian songwriter Rosa Balistrieri (Palermo, 1927-1990), a strong and proud woman who had to face so many hard times in her life yet finding the strength to go ahead through music, singing about struggle and fighting injustice.


The song was chosen to explore the meaning and the feelings of solidarity and welcoming in our contemporary society to the ones in need, particularly related to immigrants arriving in Europe through Sicily.
Fun fact: to color the sperm whales I used a texture from a pic I took at the Berlin wall.
