Nerdcast RPG: Cthulhu
Client: Jovem Nerd and Jambô Editora
Concepts and illustrations for collectibles on a crowdfunding campaing called Nerdcast RPG Coleção Cthulhu. The items were objects belonging to the characters of an RPG broadcast by the Jovem Nerd podcast: A flask for an Irish soldier; Brass knuckles for an Italian boxer; Pocket watch for an English gentleman; A cross for a Spanish priest.
The Flask
This flask belongs to a Northern Ireland republican, WWI veteran, called James O'Flanagan. At one side it has his nickname withing some celtic knots and shamrocks. The other side has an fenian claddagh around the Irish harp.

The Brass Knuckles
This item belongs to a narcissistic Italian boxer called Giacomo "Bufalo" Di Monti. At first I tried to create something that looked expensive and egocentric. It also had to have a cross on it, so I made a cross with his stage name inside with a champion belt feeling. The client wanted something simpler, so I tried a few different versions until the final one.
The Pocket Watch
This one belongs to an English gentleman called Thomas Faraday. He is a rich and noble relative to the scientist Michael Faraday. At first this watch would be an open-face, with just Thomas' coat of arms at the backside. Then the client asked me to create a hunter-case version, with the coat of arms at the cover and something else back, so I came up with a Tudor Rose inside a Faraday Cage surrounded by rays as a heraldic badge for Thomas.
The coat of arms shoudl be older than the character, but I created it base on the things that happened in the game sessions. The dog represents both Thomas and his beagle Billy and it is walking froma blue field to a black one. It represents the character going from the day (brightness and sanity) to the night (darkness and insanity).
His blazon would be: Per pale Sable and Azure a talbot passant Argent. The crest a Talbot's head Argent.

The Cross
This would be the cross of the Spanish priest Don Azaghal. At first I create a sketch of a crucifix with a simpler shape and a coat of arms at the back. The coat of arms has the Holy Wounds and the Passion Nails in it and a black galero with one tassel at each side. Then they asked me for a more elaborately shaped cross and to remove the image of Christ. I kept the coat of arms at one side and put the character's favorite psalm in his native language at the other.
The coat of arms refletcs the character's appreciation for suffering and self scourging as a means of salvation.
His blazon woud be: Argent the five holy wounds in sautor Gules and at the base three passion nails Sable.

The Extra Reward: Billy's Statue
This is the statue of Thomas' dog, Billy, who died to save all player characters when a Nazi soldier threw a grenade at them.
