No Brushes — No Pallet Knives Abstract Painting

Artist's at the MOD Gallery & Space worked together to create a Abstract paint with two main rules. 1. No Paintbrushes. 2. No Pallet Knives
Five artists down at the MOD Gallery Combined their efforts led by artist Justin Canja who came up with the live painting to do to motivate artists in working together and then silent auctioning the piece off at the end of the night. The also set a time limit, they would stop all creativity on the piece at 10 pm. This gave them from 5pm til 10pm to create the piece.
a quote from artist Justin Canja:
"“Getting five artists to have one voice is not for the faint of heart. Five artists with one canvas seemed like it would be just as difficult, but honestly, it wasn’t, and in 4 hours, this beautiful work was silent auctioned off. We painted in tandem, taking turns attacking the surface. The mission was to reach the completion goal without brushes or pallet knives to represent obtaining our visions by any means necessary.

Below are our weapons of choice:
Mallory: leaves and stones
Heather (turquoise moon): straw
Phill: cardboard EEPHUS: a discarded baseball card
PaperMonkey: takeout chopsticks

With almost nothing at all, we made a masterpiece. For those who came out to see this process in action, thank you for supporting your local artists at work!” States, Justin Canja of PaperMonkeyMovement."

After all the fun of artist's uniting in a common goal and working beautifully together here is the final project!

The Crew and Buyer. Heather Benoit, Justin Canja, Jon Schieszer a.k.a. EEPHUS, and Phil Dunn. The Blond was the woman that won the Silent Auction. The piece sold for $525.00 I believe. It was a lot of fun watching the progression of this piece.
