The starting strategy is to develop a new structure, the ELASTIC AXIS and URBAN RINGS: A fluctuating spine links the city of Sandvika with the fjord and with Hamang....
The river Sandvika has a great recreational potential. The project seeks to integrate it into the urban fabric, offering new connections and uses. The urban fabric are open in the basement allowing the interior courtyards to absorb water under extreme flood circumstances.
The built masses are organized around court-yards. The geometry of the blocks adapts in scale to particular local conditions like the proximity to the riverbeds, the urban intensity, the orientation....
