Guess Who is a movie poster inspired by the real life board game “Guess Who”. To begin piecing together the elements needed for the project, a review of the game rules was conducted. Once the rules had been properly studied it was decided that the genre of this ‘movie’ would be mystery and crime. With these themes in mind many drawn out thumbnails were created to find how the poster should be laid out. These thumbnails considered what kind of imagery, font, and colors should be used. The final poster design was made in Photoshop. It uses dark colors such as navy blue and black to give an ominous vibe to the project. Cut out pieces of newspaper were used to put together the title, this was inspired by mystery movies made in the past which fit the theme of the project. The credit text at the bottom of the poster includes a PG-13 rating for the ‘film’ however it does not use any real names except the designer and the designer’s company.
