Design Story

Sound is a wave. This is invisible, but delivered to our ears by the air vibration like water wave. Therefore, it can be said that sound flows like water. This flow is affected by the surrounding environment. The speaker generates the vibration toward the front by the unit, but the vibration spreads all over the space where it  is placed and is reflected in the whole space and also flows on the speaker body. The streamlined design of the M2 smooths this flow and reduces the distortion of the sound caused by the reflection.

Material

The streamlined design of the M2 is achieved by a unique material. Generally wood has a limit in its shape and productivity.
However, M2 was produced by a casting process with this material.
So complex shapes that are hard to be made or impossible with wood, like M2, can be created easily.
This material was synthesized environmentally so that it used for artificial bones and the enclosure weight can be controlled as mixing ratio of ingredients for sound quality. Also the enclosure made with this material has a lot of micro air pockets. These pockets absorb vibration and reduce sound distortion.

Design Concept

Unique design of M2 is achieved in an effort to change existing book shelf speaker of hexahedron. The design point  is the slim body line that falls softly and volume that emphasizes the woofer. The volume that surrounds the woofer allows you to visually feel rich bass while securing inner volume that is lacking due to the slim body line. Also, the tweeter waveguide provides a functional balance that makes the treble strong and emphasizes the tweeter, which can be relatively less weighty than the woofer, to gain design balance
