Concept
The concept of this print collection is inspired by the Ajrakh craft. Theme around which the motifs were designed is Jalaj, meaning originating from the water.
It was not just a mere inspiration for the motifs but was chosen carefully keeping in mind the magic of water as a whole in the existence of this craft as well as the creation of being.
Water plays a very important role in this craft and The reason why is still exists this long is also just because of river Indus serving the civilization Ajrakh is born out of.
Motif Development
The idea was to create motifs taking inspiration from fishes, sea shells and water plants.
The finals motifs were then designed keeping in mind the texture and outlines of various fishes, shells, lotus and water lily.
After several explorations, motifs were designed to match the look of Ajrakh and arranged in a manner to carry out the essence of the craft in the best way possible.
