Wondertins are a 1001 piece full 3d character NFT collection designed to bring joy and fun vibes to the web3 space. The collection is a semi generated collection designed to give each holder a unique "Tin" they can embody and use to engage with a broader community of holders.
I turned the project from a 2d illustration collection to a 3d collectibles brand. I was inspired by vintage retro science posters and tv's of the 50's and 60's. We used shiny materials and bright colors to make the collection unique and really pop.
Launching in 3d, allows us to visit the utility in multiple ways like either through XR experiences or IRL merch collectibles.
The process of the design journey can be seen below from our modern mid century design inspiration board, to initial sketches during the concept phase, and to when we jumped from 2d to 3d models. We even created banner with all the reject bodies for our site's splash page while we kept working through to final edit.
