The Story

Part 1

After many years of hard work and rejection after rejection, you have finally found yourself in a professional musical theatre production. After leaving your small country home town the big city is a big shock to you and you must try your best to not get caught up in the moment. The show you have just been accepted into the cast of is Chookas: The Opening Night. It follows the troubles and mishaps that happen on the eventful opening night. Being your first ever production you are nervous and feel way out of your league, not to mention the overlooking Director that always notices when you go wrong.
Will you make it to the opening night and become Broadway’s next star or will you crumble in the journey?

Part 2
After all the hours and work put in, it has finally come to that moment. Your standing offside, you can hear the crowd start to pour in and settle into their seats. As the minutes go by you can feel the nerves starting to eat their way at your stomach. You see a fellow castmate on the opposite wings giving you a comforting smile, the announcement stars and before you know it it's time. Those large red curtains are opening and you are now visible.

Let us hope this runs smoothly for the next few months.

For a different experience feel free to experiment with the storyline and come up with your own!

The Rules
1. This game can be played with or without a story mode.
2. Choose your markers and read/create a story to begin.
3. All players start off with 3 stars.
4. All players start off on START, to see who goes first, both roll a 6-sided dice. The person with the largest number begins.
5. Use the dice to see the number your marker will be moving.
6. If the player lands on a square with a microphone pick up the relevant card (Rehearsal or Stage) these cards can move you forwards, backwards, swap with other players, and collect and lose stars. If the player happens to land on a star, collect and add 1 star to your cupboard (along with any trophies).
7. Trophies can only be won once, return the chance cards to the bottom of the pile unless they are the awards. The winner of them keeps the award cards.
8. If the player loses all of their stars they will forfeit their turn. On their next go, they will be given 1 star to continue.
9. When leaving the Rehearsal side to move on to the Stage read the next part of the story.
10. A Tommy Award is worth 3 stars and an Olivia Trophy is worth 2.
11. The player who reaches the final ‘You’re A Star’ with the most stars wins the game. The game continues until all players have reached the star.
12. The player also needs to through the exact number to be able to reach ‘You’re A Star’ if a number that is too big has been thrown, the player will remain where they are.

Feel the game is too easy? Make it more challenging and decide with your friends to start with even fewer stars. Too hard? start with 5 stars. Too easy? challenge yourself and start with 1
