Untitled (Vans rendered in cardboard)
Untitled (Vans in Cardboard) is based on the abstraction of a common object rendered as a large scale interpretation of an abstracted Vans "Authentic" model shoe. Untitled (Vans in Cardboard) was fabricated from corrugated cardboard, cardboard tape, and cardstock sheets following the actual practices used to create Vans shoes. The manner of creation and manipulation of the cardboard reinterprets and pushes the qualities of the materials to create the illusion of an actual shoe.
