A master of arts graduate in economics from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, Paul “Paolo” Mozzicato is the principal and manager at Mozzicato Bakery. He coordinates the supply chain, including wholesale and retail, to keep the rich Mozzicato story alive in the community and beyond. In line with this commitment, Paul “Paolo” Mozzicato has led the bakery in numerous community initiatives, including sponsoring and donating to the 2021 edition of the Hometown Foundation’s Birdies & Horsepower.

Established in 2002, the Hometown Foundation, with support from Bozzuto's Inc and community business partners, aims to support those in need in the community through various programs. One major initiative is the Major Illness Pillar through the Birdies & Horsepower event. The annual event aims to raise funds for various programs to assist those ailing from a critical illness. The 2021 edition focused on the Connecticut Children's financial aid to advance the neonatal intensive care unit.

The attendees take part in different activities at the event, including golf, cocktails, cars, and giving. The kick-off event is the golf tournament at the Farmington Country Club. Local business owners, industry executives, and other philanthropists engage in a charitable golf tournament, with all proceeds directed to the fund. Together with other community guests, the golfers then assemble at the Farmington Polo Club for polo, a car show, live auctions, and other forms of entertainment. The event has raised over $400,000 since its inception to support the foundation's new initiative to fund local medical research contributors and stakeholders.
