For my major project in my undergraduate degree in 2019, my focus was on editorial design, and I created a book on Irish vernacular cottages the traditions, customs and beliefs systems that encapsulated them. My primary research was governed by the oral transmission of ideas, skills, and stories around the planning and the building of these houses. The book called "A fistful of thatch" highlighted the vernacular cottage as part of the Irish environment and landscape and their demise favouring a peddle-dash landscape.

The stories make up the majority of my book and are the people's spoken word, so I included handwritten pieces  to ensure the reader could hear and visualize somebody telling them the story.
