ARM is a backpack storage solution created for a special needs classroom in Bellingham, WA. Made simply from plywood and two crossing metal cables for support, ARM breaks away from the common "cubbies" often found in school classrooms and creates a more interactive experience for storing coats, backpacks, and other hanging items.
One constraint for this project was only using a single sheet of plywood with very few pieces of hardware or other materials. I chose to overcome this obstacle by slotting the plywood to create interesting shapes that would allow for enough space for each student to store their items, while still allowing for all 14 spots to be equally functional, and most importantly very easy to use.
