Illumé: Branding


Remixto was born in 2012 in Merida, Yucatan by Brent Marsh and Stanley Kahng. Its mission is to reward customers with outstanding hospitality and ownership experiences. The Remixto brand expresses freshness, Mexican, contemporary, and trusted confidence. The brand of Illume Boutique also needed to enhance these concepts.

The goal is to be the top boutique hotel in Mérida, for it to be the destination for people looking to connect through the regional flavors, contemporary style and intimate spaces offered through the hotel's design.

The graphic proposals was inspired by the interiorism designed by Raúl de la Cerda, which is characterized by beautiful bulky geometric bodies, mainly spheres. These shapes were translated from 3D to 2D. The graphic system was created by using circles, fragmented circles, and intersected squares. Then,  a semicircle was used instead of the original accent of the typography. The graphic system can be used in two scales: big and bulky or small and confetti like.

The color palette references the wonderful and unique colors found in Mérida and it's surrounding. Going from the green of the vegatation, to the terracotta of the red clay tiles and bricks.
