Winx Club: 2022 Restyle by Swangelical
Bloom - Fairy of the Dragon Flame
Bloom is the typical "girl next door", and her style is a bit casual, but she stills very girly and fashionable. I based her design in some outfits of season 1-3 of Winx Club and I adopted a preppy aesthetic for her (even though she is not 100% preppy). You can see some of her references in the moodboard.
About the fairy form, I had two canon winx transformations as references: Enchantix and Bloomix. Bloom uses a lot of fire fabric cuts in her outfit, because fire is her element. You can see that a lot of her details reminds of flames, but my favorite one is the hair and hairstyle, because besides that, it's a Y2K hairstyle and this collection is kinda of a 2000s revival.
Stella - Fairy of the Sun and the Moon
Stella is the fairy of the sun and the moon, she is the most feminine and fashionable of the girls, and she’s also a princess, what makes her good looking a MUST HAVE. Since Stella’s Planet, Solaria, have multiple suns I decided to do her with a tan shiny skin, and her clothes were thought to show it. Her outfit is all inspired by early 2000s fashion but with a modern touch. The color palette was chosen to represent the sunsent, with shades of orange, yellow and some purple details. My favorite detail is that the accessories are silver to contrast with the warm colors, and also represent her moon side.
Flora - Fairy of Nature
She is the flower of the group, she wears a lot of pink, flowers and nature related things. She is kind, a little bit shy and really sweet, so that was the vibe I wanted her outfit to have. I choose to do her with a really delicated tee shirt made with laces and silk because I think Flora likes to wear soft clothes, even though she is wearing a jeans skirt, but it has some embroidered flowers that keeps the soft energy. In the show, Flora always wears hoops, I wanted to keep it. And of course, I can't forget to mention her hair... This kind of hair streak came back as a trend past this years, and Flora has this hairstyle since the first Winx episodie, I couldn't do something different for her hair.
Flora's fairy dress follows the same idea of her casual outfit, it's something really soft, but it's more magical because it seems to be made with flowers, plants and petals. Since Flora is the fairy of nature, I thought it'd be cool include butterflies details on her outfit, not just flowers.
Aisha - Fairy of Morphix
Aisha is the sporty girl of the Winx Club, she enjoys sporties, going to the gym and practice her powers. Then, the best for her ouftit was doing something pratical for physical activities, but of course it had to be something fashionable too, because all the winx girls have a good relationship with fashion. They know how to express their personalities and individualities through their clothes. So, Aisha wears a militar parka with this glittery/baby pink pattern, shorts, and gloves to protect her hands from calluses, as she trains a lot. I think my favorite part was the hair, because I wanted to do something very unique and special for Aisha, then I gave her this braids. I haven't seen a lot of cartoon characters with braids during my life, so I thought it was a good idea to represent this hairstyle on my own winx reboot.
Personally, I think Aisha's fairy outfit was the hardest to design, because she doesn't have a solid element, she is fairy of morphix. Then, I decided to go with fluid forms, wavy aesthetics, and some seafare touches.
Musa - Fairy of Music
Musa is the "tomboy" of the group, she doesn't care to look girly, but the doesn't denies her femininity, she just enjoys exploring fashion without being stuck in social conventions. For her casual outfit I decided to go with this mesh top with strategic cuts, which is very trendy right now, but also reminds chinese clothes, and that's one of Musa's aesthetic elements. Since her top is delicated, I decided to do something agressive with baggy jeans, chunky shoes, and this pointed shape makeup. I think my favorite part of the casual outfit is the hair, because it's Musa's season 1 short hair, but the style is inspired by Lalisa from BLACKPINK, an oriental it girl. I love to mix the classic with the modern.
The transformation outfit is all inspired by traditional oriental outfits, because the oriental culture was a base for the construction of Musa's planet, Melody. In my opinion, the highlight of this outfit is the music note top, I think I outdid myself on this piece.
Tecna- Fairy of Technology
The futuristic baby, Tecna is always with her head in the future, what makes her fashion taste very unique and sometimes avant-gard. In the original show, she wears a lot of matching pieces, then I decided to go with this in her casual outfit. At first, I tought her look was a bit basic, but when I put the technologic sunglasses I saw she was on her best form! Tecna ( Aisha and Musa too), is the perfect exemple about what I like in the Winx girls, all of them knows how to use the fashion to express themselves, but the girls I mentioned break the stereotype that all the girls who likes fashion have to be extremely girly and feminine, they just make their fashion.
Tecna's fairy outfit is the most particular in my opinion, because the other girls have natural elements inspiration, while Tecna's thing is the opposite, the technology. I had to found the perfect point between technology
