we sewed half of nature
Inspiration
Urbanisation has largely deprived birds of their original habitats, and man-made materials exist in every corner of city. Many birds have began to use garbage to build nests due to lack of suitable materials. So I decided to provide a man-made platform for birds to come and build their nests.
At first, our group researched different bird nesting structures and the reasons behind them and analysed the advantages and problems that could be solved by these different interspersed structures.
USAGE SCENARIO
We found that group weaving finches often rely on a load-bearing initial structure on which to build infinite extensions with leaf interlacing.
From this, we learned about the relationship between the connection of the modules of the unitary pieces and constructed models by laser cutting different materials such as acrylic sheets, felt and wooden boards.
