Bras is a three-star Michelin restaurant located in Laguiole, France. Those who visit the restaurant are wealthy, middle-aged people from all around the world. Due to the change of head chef, the logo must adapt in accordance with Sébastien’s newfound leadership whilst not deterring the customers from coming to the reputable restaurant. Being that the composition of the plate is so dear to French chefs, it was important to express this attention to detail in the logotype. The script was hand-painted with a spoon and India ink. The letterform imitates the garnishes seen on the intricately, handcrafted meals from Bras’ kitchen. The color chosen was directly selected from the decorative palette of the plates. In all, the logo asserts Sébastien Bras as the new head chef while respectively acknowledging the legacy his father worked tirelessly to establish.
