Anxiety Awareness / PSA Campaign

PSA Campaign Project
For this project we were to create three professional ad posters to be used in a Public Service Announcement (PSA) print campaign. The goal was to promote an important issue or topic that we felt would affect individuals or communities in a positive way. Anxiety is a topic that is important to me and so I chose to create awareness on this often misdiagnosed condition. There has been a significant increase in mental health conditions diagnosed over the last few years, anxiety among the top. Creating awareness for this important topic is the first step to normalizing the conversations about what it is and work towards improving care related to it.

Below I have the three posters mocked up facing forward and then explained below individually with the city background. I chose this environment of the city for the posters to be advertised because like anxiety, it is busy, fast, loud. People can see it as they walk by, driving by, or waiting on a ride.
Poster Campaign for Anxiety Awareness
Campaign Poster Ad 1
This is the first of three posters for the campaign, Anxiety Awareness. The background color is important to catch the attention of the audience. My inspiration of choosing colors, was the traffic light. For the first poster, I chose the background color to be red as it represents warning, stop or danger. The picture needed to be simple and effective in its communication, so I chose to do big round eyes. The eyes (you) communicate a message of seeing, and to show expression of chaos (anxiety), the eyes have red lines through it. The headline is an important message of one of the most important and effective tools in coping with anxiety, which is "BREATHE". I chose to spell it incorrectly and added the three E's to emphasize and communicate the message quicker to the audience. It starts with a question to have the audience think and ends with the message of what the poster is portraying which is, RECOGNIZE.
Campaign Poster Ad 2
This is the second of the three posters. A continuation of the first poster in relaying the same message and what would be next in as little information as possible, for purpose of the poster and its simplicity. The background color is yellow to represent awareness or caution. When we begin to slow down and breathe, the chaos in the eyes begin to disappear. It begins with a different question on "what next" and the message on the bottom is RELEASE.
Campaign Poster Ad 3
This is the third of the three posters. Final of the posters in sequential order. The color is green to represent the feeling when anxiety passes. It also represents calmness of anxiety in Mental Health. The eyes are clear and the cloudiness you felt earlier on has passed. It begins with the question of "whats the resolution". The eyes also are looking down to show some kind of relief and pointing towards the topic of "Anxiety" and where to learn about the issue. The words at the bottom RELAX, are a reminder to let go of those feelings and move forward.
