Life in Color - Smithsonian

Illustration created for a science article publication regarding experiments done with CRISPR technology. The briefing focuses on the positive and hopeful results achieved in the study mentioned, and the impact of such advances on the patients' everyday life, now able to see the world in a different way: In colors.

Different stages of creation. I considered adding glasses, as many patients with vision loss do. However, I went with a clean face so it's clear the wave of colors comes from her eyes, now able to see. Showing the eyes also adds to the joy the character is experiencing. 
This is a personal study project.
