March 2022: I had the opportunity to participate in a workshop in collaboration with Solitary Gardens and Sage Stoneman to learn how to "wattle and daub." We used found and reclaimed materials to build a wall/structure in the original solitary garden. Utilizing Spanish moss, clay, and sand, we mixed materials and entwined them on a chainlink fence. All materials came from the earth or were repurposed. My intention with engaging in this learning opportunity was to reground my foundation about what I believe "construction of spaces" can come from, rooting it in abolitionist ideology and practices.
