Description
The editorial illustration is inspired by the article from The New York Times, which the title is "I’m Addicted to My Phone. How Can I Cut Back?". The article is about how consider as addicted to phone or for someone it is a culture malady and the ways of reducing phone use. After reading the article, I feel the topic is close to the current lifestyle (2022) and it is becoming common problem around the world. It may have some people will aware they are having problem of cannot lived without their smartphone or cannot left from their smartphone, but some people not or even do not think it. For those who aware it, they will be seek for someone or expert help. Therefore, the main concept of my illustration is phone addiction. In the illustration, it shows there has a person who did not aware that she is addicted to her smartphone until she realize that her hand is almost glued to her smartphone's circuitry and unable to remove from it, which the connection to the smartphone makes her feels fatigue and wants to seek help to solve the problem. There is also an animated GIF version to enhance the feeling of how a person was addicted to smartphone and was in seeking help to stop it.
