Setting up my work station.

I like to transfer my images using pilot friXon pens as they are heat-erasable.

I like to quickly make stitches in the direction of how I will embroider it.

Using stitches in varying lengths allows for a great depth of texture.

This type of stitching also allows for optical blending of the different colours of threads.

Because I wanted the fox to stand out, I used a colour-blocking approach for the dog.

Close up of the dog. I wax my threads before embroidering to prevent it from fraying. The shine on the image is removed during the ironing process which also removes the pen marks.
