Not Just Fleurons // Packaging

As part of a brief at university, we were asked to choose a previous ISTD competition brief and rewrite it to incorporate designing for print and web.

My rewritten brief was to create a thank-you pack for Kew Gardens' 'Adopt A Seed' campaign, focusing on print based media with proposed web design. I wanted the product and packaging to celebrate plant life, as stated in the original ISTD brief, but in a way that was appealing for the target audience - females aged 21-26.

Everything was based around the idea of being eco-friendly, with vegetable based inks being used, and papers made out of plant starcher.

The thank-you packs were packaged within plant pots, so that the end receiver can actually plant the forget-me-not seeds that you receive within the pack!
Everything inside the plant pots were wrapped up in tissue paper, to protect the gifts inside. You also receive a booklet that tells you all about how you're helping to adopt seeds with Kew Gardens and prevent certain species of plants from becoming extinct!
Inside the gift wrapping, you find a hand-made and printed t-shirt, and some plantable paper flowers embedded with forget-me-not seeds.
The thank-you booklet can also fold out into a typographic poster. Each poster has been designed to reflect certain elements of the plant that you adopted, using the latin name for each species.
The t-shirts were tie-dyed by hand and the designs were screen-printed onto the reverse of the t-shirts.
For the web part of it all, I proposed how these products would look on the existing Kew Gardens website.

Thank-you for your time!
