The inspiration for this artwork came from underground party culture. It's built up by a lot of situations, impressions, thoughts, people and experiences spinning through my mind. The style of the portrait is influenced by old baroque portraits and some kind of steam punk.

The inspiration for this artwork came from underground party culture. It's built up by a lot of situations, impressions, thoughts, people and experiences spinning through my mind. It also plays jocular with the art tendency steam punk. This artwork was chosen for the cover image of the group exhibition "Art in Mind" by the "Brick Lane Gallery" in London.
Dreamcatcher - 24 x 30cm, art print, 2012
The idea for this artwork comes from underground music parties. I wanted to portray a robot who visits such a party in a hidden location far from the commercial clubs. He's wearing some fancy but (for such occasion) quite common party gear with a lot of glow in the dark stuff. The slightly hippie/tribal touch shows through the Om-symbol tattooed on his chest, the pointed cap, the pipe and of course the dreamcatcher decoration in the back.
