Creativity Crisis Survival Kit for Teachers

Through extensive research it was found that teachers play the biggest role in fostering creativity in education. We may not be able to change the content of the syllabus, but the way that it is taught can make a world of difference. This kit functions to educate and inform teachers and students about creativity, to act as a catalyst to their creativity and remind them of the importance of creativity.
The logo of the kit is designed to resemble a compass, as the kit is a survival kit and gives teachers direction. The pencils represent education as well as the fact that the kit is a tool that is to be used by teachers.
Kit Packaging
The kit is divided into three sections which are further explained in the information booklet: Classroom Environment, Teaching Strategies and Teachers' Attitude. These act as three steps towards enhancing creativity in the classroom and the items in the kit assist with each step.
Information Booklet
Introductory Animation (Stop frame)
Step 1 : Transforming the classroom environment
CD containing creativity inducing music.
Pegs and wire with which to display students' work.
Colour guide explaining the significance of colour in stimulating creativity.
Posters containing definitions of creativity and common creativity myths.
Step 2: Changing teaching strategies
Booklet containing suggestions for teaching strategies and activities that will encourage creative thinking in students.
Cards that direct teachers to websites containing information about creativity in education and social media pages for the kit where teachers can share their thoughts and opinions. These cards can also be shared with fellow teachers.
Journal allowing teachers to document their thoughts and ideas as well as to plan creative lessons.
Bookmark containing a list of literature resources about creativity and education on the reverse that teachers can make use of.
Step 3: Adopting a positive attitude towards creativity
A creative people calendar to provide teachers with daily inspiration and insight into creative minds.
Classroom door sign to show students that creativity is encouraged by their teachers.
Tea to encourage teachers to take a break and de-stress so that their creativity does not suffer when they are extremely busy.
Fun awards for students for displaying creative qualities such as perseverance, courage, imagination and confidence. In this way creative thinking is encouraged as well instead of simply giving the correct answer.
Creative affirmations posters to encourage students and teachers and remind them that they are all capable of creativity.
Magazine advertisement for the kit, that would be displayed in a Department of Education publication.
Social media platforms to inform teachers about the kit, educate them about creativity and allow them to share their thoughts and ideas as well as interact with other teachers.
Web banner advertising the kit and directing teachers to social media sites and the magazine advertisement.
A tangram, or Chinese puzzle serves as the promotional item.
Flyers, containing the same information as the magazine advertisement, to be distributed along with the promotional item at schools.
