The Sword and The Pen
The Sword and The Pen is a digitally illustrated, reversable poster based on the phrase "The sword is mightier than the pen." each side of the poster emulates a specific style associated with the history of the sword and pen respectively. For the pen I was inspired by the Chinese calligraphy and ink paintings and for the sword I emulated the stylings of medieval manuscripts.
Color Palette
The Pen's color palette is muted and inspired by the black and white ink painting of the great ink painters such as Fan Kuan. in contrast the Sword bright and vibrant color palette is inspired by the colorful illuminated manuscripts found during the medieval time period

The Bottom drawings on the sword poster were inspired by the multitudes of drawings seen in the illuminated manuscripts of great beasts and animals doing human activities
