The Watch Project

DESCRIPTION

The concept of this project was to recreate a watch using only vectors in Adobe Illustrator. The objective was to closely mimic the original watch.
THE SKETCHING PROCESS

When it came to my sketching process, I honestly thought it would be simple. But, as I got into sketching more of the little parts of the watch, I started to realize how much detail this project was going to require. I realized that it wasn't just going to be a bunch of simple shapes put together. It was going to require many different shapes, layers, gradients, and more. I was starting to think that I picked a hard watch with some textures that I wasn't sure I could execute in Adobe Illustrator.

FEEDBACK

There wasn't much feedback for me. My first draft was far from getting any real critiques and my second draft was still not much for others to critique off of. I didn't get very far enough into the project before critique day because I had to start the project from scratch because of a massive mess up.

THE END

By the end of this project, after over forty hours of work, my image meets the objectives. When looking at the vector watch from afar, one could mistake it for the original watch. The layers, Gaussian blurs, and gradients gave the effect of the real deal when it came to the shine of the metal, leather, and other watch pieces.
