THE SITUATION
Successful in Istanbul for over 40 years, Hilat designs and handcrafts 24-karat gold fine jewelry inspired by ancient art. They have an excellent reputation among local elites, but wanted to expand beyond Turkey to appeal to a worldwide audience.
 
OUR WORK
We worked to assemble a team of leading industry experts to help Hilat prepare a launch strategy. The “Past. Present. Future.” Brand Platform combines ancient tradition with today’s sensibilities and a vision for tomorrow. The romance of Istanbul and the hand work of the Hilat artisans are highlighted to create a compelling brand story. Timelines lead the viewer through the story and connect Ancient Era inspiration and jewelry making with the contemporary woman. A charcoal and gold color palette complements the pieces, while product photography highlights the warm glow of the gold and the hand-hewn textures. Model images utilize dramatic lighting and tight crops to draw attention to the jewelry while invoking a sense of the mystery of Istanbul.
 
RESULTS
Hilat launched in the North American market at 2013 Couture Las Vegas, and their line was picked up by premier luxury retailers in the U.S. and Canada. Andrea Hansen of LuxeIntelligence said of their debut, “Hilat impressed the media and buyers with a unique collection of handcrafted masterpieces that combine the highest level of Turkish jewelry making and the allure of an authentic brand.” We look forward to seeing their growth worldwide.
