The Requiem project was created within the one-year Book As Space workshop at Vakalo Art&Design College, and more specifically as part of the workshop "The Text of Appearances" curated by Dimitris Rentoumis. The aim of the workshop was to make a composition from different materials available at home – since the workshop was held online due to covid-19 restrictions - at a certain time and write a text related to it and its creating process, in order to then redefine the object and the text in a new composition.
Afterwards, I photographed the small object I had made – a composition of leaflets, papers of different textures and other materials such as a laptop protective membrane. My text thoroughly describes how I handled these materials together, alongside the music I was listening to at the moment. The composition of the images and the text was crystallized in the form of a special book. A single cover embraces two books - one with pictures and one with text - which are paged through conversely, creating yet a single object.
