A corporate identity for The Galleries and Museums shop. The shop specializes in selling merchandise from slovenian galleries and museums, as well as products from local designers and artists and heritage fine art.
 
The project won first place at the competition by Slovenian Ministry of Culture.
 
GAMS is a museum shop. The logo is therefor a stylized shopping bag consisting of the four abbreviation letters GAMS. The logo/bag can be filled with different products.
The form of the logo is modern and recognizable, it serves as a dropbox for different motives depending on a different museum or gallery. The basic logo can be upgraded with different paintings, photographies, patterns etc., binding it to the institution which produced or published a certain product. The logo is so buidling on its dynamics, diversity and story but all in the limits of the primary identity.
The logo consists of four equal parts, each representing a letter of the abbreviation, and a bags handle. The typography is modern and the shapes of the letters might reveal ground plans of shops, galleries and museums.
The primary logo is in dark grey colour with a spot of red/magenta in the handle. The colour in the handle changes if the stores should expand to different regions in the country. This enables differentiation between the locations, enriches the identity and still maintains the basic recognizability.
 
The identity enables a wide range of use in different medium and situatuins, if an extension of the shop network should occur.

The first shop was to be opened in the capital city Ljubljana and than later it would spread to the capitals of other regions of the country. A colour differentiation was determined for that purpose.

For the gift wrapping paper and aditional sign was designed, where the basic logo is playfully transformed into a gift bag.
