Light bulb Art - Graphic Design 235
This project is for my online graphic design class where we are currently learning about different creative strategies. The following photos demonstrate those creative strategies. The object I chose to work with was a lightbulb, enjoy looking at them!
1. Change of Environment
This composition successfully demonstrated the creative strategy of change of context/environment through still acting as a light that shines, but taking place of the sun up in the sky.
2. Isolation
This composition successfully demonstrated the creative strategy of isolation through portraying a single lit light bulb among a crowd of dark, unlit light bulb. It alone was shining bright.
3. Combination
My composition successfully demonstrates the creative strategy of combination through portraying how a light bulb and a greenhouse. The little sapling is growing within the light bulb. These two objects are similar in that light bulbs give off light and plants need light in order to grow well.
4. Metaphor/Simile
My metaphor/simile composition consisted of a light bulb that is in the shape of a human head with the brain powering it. This is a metaphor for how ideas come about in the human brain.
5. Physical/Shape similarity
My physical/shape similarity was successful because it was able to act as both a light bulb and a planter. These two objects are similar in shape and worked well together.
6. Juxtaposition
The composition I created for the juxtaposition creative strategy consisted of a rocket in space made of a light bulb. A rocket and a light bulb are very different from one another and putting them together helped to showcase their differences.
7. Material Change
This composition successfully demonstrated the creative strategy of material change through retaining the shape of a light bulb while also portraying the characteristics of a cactus in the desert.
