Spur Line Art Trail

'Spur Line Art Trail'

I really enjoyed creating artwork for the Building neighbourhoods Builds community 2.0: ‘Spur Line Art Trail’. Working straight onto wood from trees felled on the trail itself, I took time to consider what the trail meant to me. I decided to approach it from an abstract angle, and have used shapes to signify various aspects of the Bow Valley. For example; the old Canmore mining train wheels, feathers to represent animals, the engine bridge,  mountains and the lovely Bow river.

This piece and many other beautiful others are currently hanging on trees on the Spur Line Trail in Canmore.

Thank you Lesley Russell for such a lovely inspirational project.
