At one point in the summer of 2021 I woke up with this animation stuck in my head. Initially, I thought I would need to contract someone to build a simulation of the type dissolving like a bath bomb. To help communicate that concept I composited and painted the base image to talk through what was and was not possible.

While assembling my reel, I wondered if I could use puppet warp to get close to my initial idea. A bit of preparation on the original photoshop file and 2 hours of finessing, and we have a satisfactory result! Screenshots of the puppet grid and rough flow map below.
