Curatorship
Writing, Photography, Art Direction, Research, Mentoring, Workshops
From 2005 until 2012 I curated several art exhibitions at independant spaces, as well as facilitating art projects at some top London galleries.
The following is a selection of work I was involved in from hanging exhibitions, to co-art direction and branding on the both the gallery and journal identity. Also curatorial writing and reviewing for a photography member's club journal.
I also organised gallery talks, photography and darkroom workshops and also managed the social media representation of the club, for which there are examples.
Below are examples of exhibitions I curated at Gallery 1885. Artists shown are ALT and Nat Skobeeva.
Below are the new look journals that I helped to co-created with a layout designer and editer of the journal. I also wrote curatorial texts and also wrote and reviews for exhibitions.
Above is Gallery 1885's logo I designed using a photogram by Judith Lyons for use on social media, journals, website and stationary, which are shown below.
Below is the social media promotion of alternative process workshop I ran with leading photographers in their field.
The page below shows some alternative process workshops I ran with Peter Moseley and judith Lyons.
The new logo co-designed by Miko Coffey, Kevin Ricks, Andrew Mason and myself, extended across all stationary to give a unified look to the club.
Below is part of the 'Nine New Names' fine art exhibition i co-curated with Danish duo Floorless in 2006.
I photographed the 'work in progress show' in 2009, which celebrated 20 years of the Berlin wall being taken down.
I worked with the exhibitions department at Barbican to facilitate the Brazillian Tropicalia exhibition. I also interviewed Tina Barney on her 'Europeans' exhibition.
